Close that visor!” En route to the Gamma Quadrant, you’ll get a helmetful of Buzz Lightyear’s cheerful pomposity–fired off with downright stellar sound effects. Twelve-inch Buzz comes complete with a flashing laser light on one wrist, a hidden Star Command pager on the other, a flip-up helmet, and expandable wings. Three buttons on his space suit activate different modes (launch, stealth, and hyperdrive) that trigger a variety of commands and illuminate a helmet strip for strategic night-vision maneuvers. Buzz even has directional sensors that let him know where he’s going–and if he’s going there right-side up! Jointed arms, legs, and hands enable Buzz to assume a variety of authoritative stances on your desk or bookshelf (sitting excepted: Buzz Lightyear never sits). And when you’ve finished your travels to you-know-where and beyond, Buzz turns off automatically, with a parting shot: “So long, cadet!” Requires three AA batteries (not included). –Julie Ubben
