1. Fans say that the sculpt of the new dark warrior is impressive, and the lightsaber is loaded with tiny details and features. So from a looks standpoint, the action figure is top-notch. What action figures have gained in detail over the years, however, is apparently lost in quality and durability.

One consumer parent commented that after a full day of play with the Kylo Ren action figure by her 5-year-old, the lightsaber had broken and the head had popped off several times. The child was also apparently in possession of the parent’s vintage action figures, which were still in good working order and showed the vast difference in quality between 1980’s action figures and those sold today.

2. Individual actions figures are all sold separately, but can be combined with other figures and accessories like TIE fighters and land speeders to create a whole universe of play.

3. While the action figure does come with instructions, few instructions are really necessary with action figures, and even better, no assembly is required. Action figures are possibly one of the best ways to allow children’s imaginations to run wild and create entire universes out of just the dialogue in their own heads!

Things To Consider

1. There are four different “missions” to choose from: Snow Mission, Desert Mission, Forest Mission and Space Mission. When purchasing action figures, you may want to consider purchasing figures from the same mission, or perhaps purchasing a selection of figures from different missions.

2. Somewhere in the offing, may be an option to purchase an entire Star Wars: The Force Awakens Forest Mission 5 Action Figure Pack, which will feature Kylo Ren, BB8, Resistance Trooper, First Order Stormtrooper and Chewbacca as well as more than 11 different weapons and accessories. The weapons are all interchangeable and can be combined with other figures to create new weapons. With a list price of $49.95, this makes the collection an excellent value, particularly given the Kylo Ren action figure’s individual price of $16.95 and the other action figures ranging anywhere from $7.99 for Goss Towers, to $12.99 for Chewbacca. Unfortunately, however, no release date has officially been set for the collection.
